REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE ON PLANNING DATE: February 5, 2013 Re: Comm. No. 84 PLACE: Council Chambers Hilo, Hawai`i TIME: 10:16 a.m. Council Chair and Members Hawai`i County Council Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Communication No. 84, reports as follows: Communication No. 84, from Mayor William P. Kenoi, dated January 7, 2013 transmits the nomination of Ms. Fran Tabor to the South Kohala Community Development Plan Action Committee for the Council's review and favorable recommendation. Ms. Tabor is a 15-year resident of Kamuela. She received her master's degree in Psychology in 1971 and her Doctorate in Optometry in 1995. Ms. Tabor was an original member of the South Kohala Community Development Plan Action Committee who resigned due to medical reasons. She is now ready to continue serving on this committee. Ms. Tabor is active as a volunteer at the North Kohala Community Hospital and for Election Polls. She is a member of the Waimea Community Association, the Waimea Outdoor Circle, the Lalamilo Farmers Association, and the Waimea Traffic Safety Committee. She also serves on the Board of the Friends for T. Parker Library. Ms. Tabor's extensive background and involvement with the entire community will provide invaluable information to this committee. Ms. Tabor will serve a 4-year term. Ms. Tabor is not required to appear before the Council for final confirmation.
