REQUEST: <br /> Resolution authorizing the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and of more than one fiscal year for a multi- <br /> year lease for one (1) postage meter for the Office of the Corporation Counsel. <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> Current postage meter is almost 10 years old and is nearing the end of its useful life. <br /> Upgrade (at no additional cost) would include a 5-lb scale. The scale would be a great asset to the office, as <br /> it would allow mailing of large/heavy documents in a more timely manner. <br /> Upgrade (at no additional cost) would include the ability to make necessary rate changes without purchasing <br /> a new postage chip. Currently, every time the U.S.P.S. rates change, we have to purchase a chip. <br /> Current lease amount is $21.84 per month.
