The <br /> original bill, discussed at the January 21, 1997 meeting of <br /> the Committee on Public Works and Parks, has been changed <br /> in two places as follows: <br /> • In Section 10, on page 12, the date of November 23, 1994 <br /> has been changed to March 31, 1997. This change has been <br /> made to address the concern expressed about the <br /> retroactivity of the requirement for the building <br /> envelope of shell or speculative buildings and warehouses <br /> to be upgraded to Code requirements when converted to <br /> facilities for human occupancy. <br /> • In Section 16, on page 14, the wording is changed so as <br /> to have the ordinance take effect on April 1, 1997 rather <br /> than the date of Council approval. <br /> Building Division have agreed to these two changes. The new <br /> dates have been selected in the interests of facilitating <br /> code adherence by the public and implementation by the <br /> Building Division. <br /> Attachment <br /> xc: Mayor Stephen K.
