During his nearly 50 years in the Senate, Hawai‘i benefitted from federal expenditures relating to national defense, transportation, higher education, astronomy, agriculture, economic development and community development, and Senator Inouye directed federal funds for the realignment of State Route 200, known as “Saddle Road.” Hawai‘i Senate Bill No. 50 would rename the Saddle Road to “Daniel K.
