,NSY OS„ ' <br /> `• <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII _• STATE OF HAWAI I <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 83 13 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY <br /> DONATION OF $5,000 TO THE HAWAII COUNTY FIRE <br /> DEPARTMENT <br /> WHEREAS, State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company is donating $5,000 to <br /> the Hawaii County Fire Department's Fire Prevention Division; and <br /> WHEREAS, these funds will be used to provide training, supplies, and other needed <br /> items for the canine team of Fire Captain Robert R. K. Perreira and "Kaimi", the division's <br /> arson canine; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that <br /> the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities or <br /> other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and Chapter 2, Article <br /> 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that any gifts or donations of money, <br /> securities, or personal property which fall within the capitalization procedures of the <br /> Department of Finance, may be accepted by Resolution approved by the Council; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Department of Finance has requested that cash <br /> donations of any amount be recorded and accepted through the formal Resolution process; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this <br /> donation; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in <br /> accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and Chapter 2, <br /> Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawai'i County Code, the Council of the County of Hawaii <br /> accepts this donation. <br />
