No. 87 -13 <br />PLACE: Council Chambers <br />Kona, Hawaii <br />TIME: 5:18 p.m. <br />Council Chair and Members <br />Hawaii County Council <br />Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 87 -13, reports as follows: <br />Resolution No. 87 -13, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford, via Communication No. 198 <br />dated March 8, 2013, authorizes the Mayor to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with the <br />United States Department of Army, pursuant to HRS Section 46 -7, to use a building on Kilauea Military <br />Camp to operate a fire station. <br />The Hawaii Fire Department has been allowed use of Building 59 on Kilauea Military Camp since <br />September 15, 2010. This agreement will provide for the use to continue through August 31, 2015. <br />There was no discussion on this measure. <br />Pursuant to Section 46 -7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, County Departments must obtain the consent of the <br />Council to enter into agreements with the federal or state governments respecting action to be taken <br />pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend and receive any funds or other <br />assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers. <br />Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 87 -13, and <br />recommends its adoption. <br />.iy <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br />VALERIE T.
