REPORT OF THE <br />COMMITTEE ON PUBLIC SAFETY <br />AND MASS TRANSIT <br />DATE: March 27, 2013 <br />PLACE: Council Chambers <br />Kona, Hawai`i <br />TIME: 1:31 p.m. <br />Council Chair and Members <br />Hawai`i County Council <br />Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br />Re: Comm. No. 201 <br />Your Committee on Public Safety and Mass Transit, to which was referred Communication <br />No. 201, reports as follows: <br />Communication No. 201, transmitted by Mayor William P. Kenoi, dated February 26, 2013, <br />nominates Mr. Keith T. Morioka of Council District 3 to the County of Hawai`i Police <br />Commission. <br />Mr. Morioka, a lifelong resident of Hawai`i, is presently retired. He was previously employed <br />by the State of Hawai`i Department of Education as a District Education Specialist — Athletics. <br />Mr. Morioka is a board member of the Positive Coaching Alliance — Big Island, the OIA Athletic <br />Foundation, the Hawai`i Island Athletic Directors Association, and the Nobu Yamauchi RBI <br />League.
