Subject: 2013-2014 Real Property Assessment Certification Report
Dear Chairman Yoshimoto and Members of the Hawaii County Council:
Attached is my certificate of net taxable real property within the County of Hawaii for
2013-2014 tax year. This certificate is furnished in compliance with Chapter 19, Article
11, Section 19-90(d) of the Hawaii County Code, as amended.
The total value of net taxable real property is $23,542,277,844. This amount is
$14,708,938 higher than the previous year. It represents a 0.06 percent increase
compared to the previous tax year. The estimated gross value of new residential
construction is $213,372,800 and commercial construction is $24,479,900.
A total of 233 appeals were filed, as compared to 543 in the previous year. The amount
in dispute is $93,505,313 compared to $234,500,388 in the previous year.
Enclosed please find details of the assessed valuations by zones, classes of property,
exemptions and appeals.
Also enclosed are the 2013-2014 Council District Certification and the 2013 Assessment
List on compact disk.

I, Nancy E. Crawford, Director of Finance of the County of Hawaii,
pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 19, Article 11, Section 19-90 of the Hawaii
County Code, do hereby certify to the Council of the County of Hawaii as follows:
(1) The net taxable value for each class of property within the County of
Hawaii as of April 19, 2013, as nearly correct as may be, is as set forth below.
Excluded is the value of exempt real property made taxable under the
provisions of Chapter 19, Article 10, Section 19-85 of the Hawaii County
Code, and excluded is the value claimed by each taxpayer who has filed an
appeal plus fifty percent of the value in dispute where appeals from the
director's assessments were unsettled as of April 19, 2013.
