She attended the University of New Mexico and the University of Hawaii, Hilo campus and began her Real Estate career in 1974. She became a Real Estate Broker in 1980 and opened her own office in 1982. She is the sole owner and Principal-Broker of Jan Mahuna Inc. and does both real estate sales and property management. During the Carpenter Administration she served as Chair of the Ethics Board and also served on the Civil Service Commission. She has also done volunteer work with the Red Cross doing damage assessments when there is a major disaster. In 2012, she served on the Real Property Tax Ad-Hoc Committee which undertook a preliminary assessment of the recommendations from the 2012 report of the International Association of Assessing Officers. Bob Price was a licensed realtor in the State of Indiana from 1976-1994 and was elected to the County Council in the State of Indiana from 1988-1994. He also was an elected Assessor in the State of Indiana from 1994-2002. After moving to Hawai`i, he worked as a Hawai`i County assessor from 2005-2010, after which he retired. In 2012, he served on the Real Property Tax Ad-Hoc Committee which undertook a preliminary assessment of the recommendations from the 2012 report of the International Association of Assessing Officers. Bob would like to continue working to improve the County's real property tax program. Stewart Hussey is a Hawaii Certified General Appraiser and President of the Lawrence Appraisal Group Hawai`i, Inc. (dba Hussey Appraisal Group Hawai`i).
