REPORT OF THE <br /> COMMITTEE ON PUBLIC WORKS AND PARKS AND RECREATION <br /> REGARDING: Communication No 282/Bill No. 82 <br /> DATE: June 4, 2013, 9:02 a.m. <br /> LOCATION: Council Chambers, Kona, Hawai`i <br /> TITLE: An Ordinance amending Chapter 24, Article 11, Division 1, <br /> Section 24-298 of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, <br /> as amended), relating to speed limits. <br /> EXPLANATION: <br /> Your committee on Public Works and Recreation, to which was referred Bill No. 82, reports as <br /> follows: <br /> Bill No. 82, transmitted by Public Works Director Warren H. W. Lee, via Communication <br /> No. 282, dated May 10, 2013, amends Chapter 14, Article 11 (Schedules—Private Streets), <br /> Division 1 (Speed Limits), Section 24-298, Schedule 2 (15 mile per hour limit), subsection (g), <br /> Puna of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended)by adding"Hawaiian <br /> Paradise Park, All Unpaved Roads." <br /> The purpose of this amendment is to establish speed limits in the Hawaii County Code for the <br /> Hawaiian Paradise Park Subdivision so that speed limits can be properly enforced by the police. <br /> Your Committee received testimony in support of this measure from Ms. June Conant, President <br /> of the Hawaiian Paradise Park Homeowners Association. <br /> Committee member Greggor Ilagan thanked Ms. Conant for testifying and also thanked the <br /> Department of Public Works for adding HPP speed limits on the County Code. <br /> AMENDMENTS: Comm.
