OF OF, RESOLUTION NO. 132 13 A RESOLUTION TO AMEND SALARY ORDINANCE NO. 13-50 BY AMENDING SECTION 3(B) BY INCREASING THE AFFECTED PAY GRADES BY 4% FOR THE LEGISLATIVE BRANCH WHEREAS, Section 3-13, Hawaii County Charter, provides for interim amendments to the Salary Ordinance to be made by resolution; and WHEREAS, Section 7 of Salary Ordinance No. 13-50 lists the classes of work and compensation for persons employed by the County other than those whose pay is otherwise provided for; and WHEREAS, Section 3(B) of Salary Ordinance No. 13-50 lists the salaries of pay grades and steps in the Legislative Branch; and WHEREAS, salaries for the United Public Workers and some Hawaii Government Employee Association union employees negotiated at the state level will be increased about 4%, while the union employees for Police and Fire are currently negotiating in arbitration; and WHEREAS, the Legislative Branch has participated in the work furlough program implemented by the Administration since 2010; and WHEREAS, the last pay increase in any pay grade was approved in 2008; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Section 3(B) of Salary Ordinance No. 13-50 be amended as follows: "SECTION 3. Rate of Compensation. (B) The salaries of the Executive Assistant to the Council Chairperson, Deputy Executive Assistant to the Council Chairperson, Legal Specialist, Administrative Assistant to Legislative Auditor, Administrative Assistant to the County Clerk, Special Assistant, Audit Analyst, Legislative Specialist, Council Aide, Council Aide to the Chairperson, and Council Legislative Assistant of the Legislative Branch shall be at the following rates:
