COUNTY OF HAWAII �,,� : STATE OF HAWAI I <br /> TE OF MF <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 147 13 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A FIRE ENGINE <br /> WHEREAS, the Avalon Fire Department of Avalon California is donating one <br /> (1) 1999 Ford Type 5 fire engine, with an estimated value of$3,000 to the Hawaii <br /> Fire Department; and <br /> WHEREAS, this vehicle will be used to support the Hawaii Fire Department's <br /> Laupahoehoe Volunteer Fire Company 17A personnel to assist with the response to, <br /> and extinguishment of, fire emergencies; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides <br /> that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, <br /> securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, <br /> and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that <br /> any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the <br /> capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by <br /> resolution approved by the Council; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this <br /> donation; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in <br /> accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and <br /> Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawai`i County Code, the Council of the <br /> County of Hawaii accepts this donation. <br />
