JM`v es N2, ' COUNTY OF HAWAII :• ; '� • STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 168 13 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY DONATION OF $15,000 TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS WHEREAS, Mr. Keoki Magoon, Greenwood Center is donating $15,000 to the Department of Public Works; and WHEREAS, these funds will be used for pedestrian improvements to the school zone and crosswalk flashing lights on Mamalahoa Highway, across from Waimea Elementary School, and west of the Lindsey Road intersection; and WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by Resolution approved by the Council; and WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Department of Finance has requested that cash donations of any amount be recorded and accepted through the formal Resolution process; and WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works recommends the acceptance of this donation; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the County of Hawaii accepts this donation.
