SECTION 4. Chapter 24, article 8, division 5, section 24-230, of the Hawaii County <br />Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), is amended to read as follows: <br />"Section 24-230. County <br />stalls. <br />(E) Rentals shall be eemputed oneii.-ri.enthly and monthly- a <br />„1ieable to p o ,t and tempofafy ,,,king privileges <br />. <br />(4) County employees' —and off eials'' fenttal for- pafking stalls shall be <br />deposited in the gener-al fiand.] <br />Designated parking; County officials and employees. <br />(a) The director of public works, or the director's authorized representative, <br />shall assign a designated parking stall to the mayor, managing director, <br />deputy managing director, all directors and administrators of any County <br />agency and their respective deputies, all council members, the County <br />clerk and the deputy County clerk, which shall be provided at no cost to <br />the respective official. The parking stall for all named officials in this <br />section shall be located as close as possible to the building entrance <br />nearest to the respective official's assigned office. <br />The director of public works or the director's authorized representative, <br />shall assign a designated parking stall to each County employee assigned <br />to work at a location as provided in section 24-229. Parking assignments <br />shall be established pursuant to a list of employees as solicited by the <br />director of public works, or the director's authorized representative, with <br />priorityparking assignment based on the chronological order of <br />applications so received. Parking for County employees shall only be <br />provided after parking assignments have been established pursuant to <br />subsection (a). Should an applicant for a designatedparking stall be denied <br />due to the unavailability of parking stalls, that applicant shall be placed on <br />a waiting list and assigned a designated parking stall as soon as <br />practicable. Designated parking stalls shall be provided at no cost to the <br />County employee." <br />SECTION 5. Chapter 24, article 8, division 5, section 24-233 of the Hawaii County <br />Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), is repealed in its entirety: <br />"Section 24-233.
