No. 433/Bill No. 131 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 131, reports as follows: <br />Bill No. 131, transmitted jointly with Resolution No. 175 -13, by Finance Director Nancy Crawford via <br />Communication No. 433 dated September 13, 2013, amends Ordinance No. 13 -65, as amended, the <br />Operating Budget for the County of Hawaii for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2013. The amendment is <br />as follows: <br />From: <br />010.3309.02 Federal Grants — Assistance to Firefighters <br />Grant 2012 — Prev & Safety General $ 19,400 <br />To <br />010.221.5228.22 Assistance to Firefighters Grant 2012 — <br />Prev & Safety General $ 19,400 <br />These funds will be used to purchase 700 to 750 fire detectors to be installed into the homes of elderly <br />residents across Hawaii Island. <br />Pursuant to Section 46 -7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, County departments must obtain the consent of the <br />Council to enter into agreements with the Federal or State governments respecting action to be taken <br />pursuant to any powers granted.by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other assistance <br />connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers. <br />FC Report No. 98 <br />
