The property subject property is located on the makai side of <br /> the Old Mamalahoa Highway between the 25 and 26 mile marker, Waipunalei Homesteads, <br /> Waipunalei,North Hilo, Hawai`i <br /> The Commission concurs with the following Planning Director's reasons for recommending <br /> favorable consideration of the request: <br /> The applicant requests a Change of Zone from A-20a to A-5a to subdivide the <br /> 10.17-acre property into two (2) lots of roughly equal size for estate planning purposes <br /> with each proposed lot to be conveyed to the applicant and his sister-in-law for <br /> agricultural purposes and individual homesites. The applicant is proposing the <br /> cultivation of fruit trees as well as the raising of chickens, while the sister-in-law, who <br /> currently lives on the property, is using portions of the property as pasture for cattle and <br /> goats. <br /> Hawai`i County is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer <br />
