BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> This donation was given to the Fire Prevention Division to support fire safety education, as well as Fire <br /> Prevention Week. Each year in October the Fire Department focuses on educating the public, primarily <br /> elementary students, on fire safety and prevention. We target this age group due to their higher mortality <br /> statistics in fires. Printed materials and other educational supplies are purchased with this funding each year <br /> to combat this problem.
