REQUEST: <br /> To enter into agreement between the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Hawaii Fire Department for the <br /> purpose of supporting wildland and structural firefighting services provided by the Hawaii Fire Department on <br /> lands within the boundaries of the Big Island National Wildlife Refuge Complex which includes lands at <br /> Hakalau Forest NWR and Kona Forest NWR (Attachment A), and to provide a public benefit through U.S. <br /> Fish and Wildlife Service support and assistance. <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> The Hakalau Forest NWR and Kona Forest NWR are situated in areas with a high fire hazard.
