+tV OSM <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII --���" 4.• STATE OF HAWAII <br /> �rE..... . <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 259 14 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION <br /> OF TWO (2) AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATORS FOR USE <br /> BY THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii Heart Foundation is donating two (2) Automated <br /> External Defibrillators (AEDs), valued at $2,708 to the Hawaii Fire Department; and <br /> WHEREAS, this equipment will be utilized by the Hawaii Fire Department's <br /> Volunteer Division to support their mission to increase the survival rate from <br /> community cardiac arrest within the Island of Hawaii; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides <br /> that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, <br /> securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, <br /> and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that <br /> any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the <br /> capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by <br /> resolution approved by the Council; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this <br /> donation; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in <br /> accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and <br /> Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the <br /> County of Hawaii accepts this donation. <br />
