MtV OF„ COUNTY OF HAWAII •ffik''... t!•' STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 260 14 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT AWARD OF $35,000 TO THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT TO SUBSIDIZE THE COST OF AN EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES (EMS) VEHICLE WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department's Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Bureau has been selected to receive a grant award of$35,000 from the HMSA Foundation; and WHEREAS, these funds will be used to subsidize the cost of a vehicle to be used for community outreach, education and emergency response; and WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by Resolution approved by the Council; and WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this grant award; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the County of Hawaii accepts this grant award. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor, the Finance Department, and the Fire Department.
