COUNTY OF HAWAII .ii‘' /' <br /> ) <br /> STATE OF HAWAII <br /> .K...,,...., : . <br /> 269 14 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY <br /> DONATION OF $750 TO THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT TO <br /> SUPPORT THE EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES (EMS) <br /> BUREAU'S FALL PREVENTION PROGRAM <br /> WHEREAS, the Hilo Walmart is donating $750 to the Hawaii Fire Department for <br /> use by their EMS Bureau in their Fall Prevention program; and <br /> WHEREAS, these funds will be used towards the purchase of a laptop computer <br /> to assist in program management and data collection; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides <br /> that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, <br /> securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and <br /> Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that any gifts <br /> or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the capitalization <br /> procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by Resolution approved by <br /> the Council; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Department of Finance has requested that cash <br /> donations of any amount be recorded and accepted through the formal Resolution <br /> process; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this <br /> donation; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in <br /> accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and Chapter <br /> 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the County of <br /> Hawaii accepts this donation. <br />
