Reasons for Request: The applicant has submitted the following reasons for the time
extension request:
• The applicant purchased the property in October of 2005 with the intention to turn
the existing single wall home to commercial office space. Shortly after the
purchase, she felt the pressures of the economic downturn and all plans for the
property stopped. She found a buyer for the property in 2006 and it was sold
under an agreement of sale. Just after one year from the purchase, the new
owners also felt the pressures of the bad economy. The new owners could not
make the payments and the property was taken back.
• Since the purchase of the property in 2005, the existing dwelling has become
termite ridden and would be too costly to repair and renovate. As such, the
current applicant is proposing to demolish the existing dwelling and construct a
new commercial office building.
3. Landowner: The landowner of the property is the current applicant, Sandra Y.
Kaneshiro.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
4.
