• <br /> .i��1'�IYIy'l <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII - • �'; •- STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2S0 14 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE THE DONATION <br /> OF SURPLUS HYDRATED LIME FROM THE U.S. ARMY, <br /> ENGINEER RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT CENTER <br /> CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING RESEARCH LABORATORY TO <br /> THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT <br /> WHEREAS, the U.S. Army, Engineer Research and Development Center <br /> Construction Engineering Research Laboratory is donating fifty (50) tons of <br /> hydrated lime, with an estimated value of $28,000 to the Department of <br /> Environmental Management's Wastewater Division; and <br /> WHEREAS, this material is used to help control the pH level of wastewater <br /> at the Kula'imano and Papa'ikou wastewater treatment plants; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter <br /> provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of <br /> money, securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real <br /> estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawai'i County Code <br /> states that any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which <br /> fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be <br /> accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Environmental Management recommends <br /> the acceptance of this donation; now, therefore, <br />
