COUNTY OF HAWAII •��; STATE OF HAWAI I <br /> ,rE•cs•N►r►_. <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 314 14 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION <br /> OF SHOES AND SLIPPERS FOR USE BY THE HAWAII FIRE <br /> DEPARTMENT <br /> WHEREAS, Olukai is donating shoes and slippers, valued at $18,300 to the <br /> Hawaii Fire Department; and <br /> WHEREAS, this gear will be utilized by the Hawaii Fire Department's Ocean <br /> Safety Division as foot protection for lifeguards; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai`i County Charter provides <br /> that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, <br /> securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, <br /> and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that <br /> any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the <br /> capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by <br /> resolution approved by the Council; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this <br /> donation; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in <br /> accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and <br /> Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the <br /> County of Hawaii accepts this donation. <br />
