COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 329 14 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EQUIPMENT <br /> FOR THE COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAMS AND NEIGHBORHOOD <br /> WATCH PROGRAMS. <br /> WHEREAS, the Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.) is a community <br /> based program that provides initial and critical emergency services in response to disasters, with <br /> 300 trained members within 20 active C.E.R.T. teams on Hawai`i Island; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Neighborhood Watch is a community based program that provides <br /> crime prevention and community security by working in collaboration with various public safety <br /> organizations; and <br /> WHEREAS, the C.E.R.T. and Neighborhood Watch programs are active members of the <br /> Hawai`i County Citizen Corp Program, which program is overseen by the Hawai`i County <br /> Citizen Corp Advisory Council, an advisory board to the Office of the Mayor; and <br /> WHEREAS, C.E.R.T. and Neighborhood Watch Programs are in need of funds to <br /> provide education, training and equipment to promote community self reliance for disaster <br /> response and crime prevention; and <br /> WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to <br /> the Civil Defense Agency for expenses associated with the C.E.R.T. and Neighborhood Watch; <br /> now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br /> following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below: <br /> FUND: GENERAL <br /> AMOUNT OF <br /> APPROPRIATION: $3,000 <br /> OUT AND FROM: <br /> 010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC—Contingency Relief $3,000 <br />
