RESOLUTION NO. 337 14
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND
RECREATION TO PURCHASE EQUIPMENT FOR CERTAIN RECREATIONAL
FACILITIES IN PUNA.
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is responsible for the oversight,
management and maintenance of nearly 200 recreational sites, cemetaries and other county
owned and operated facilities; and
WHEREAS, Puna is the fastest growing district in Hawai`i County, which causes heavy
usage of recreational facilities such as the Pahoa Neighborhood Facility, Pahoa Aquatics Center,
and the Hawaiian Beaches Pavillion; and
WHEREAS, recreational facilities need to augment existing equipment and/or replace
aged inventory with metal folding chairs, pop-up tents, tables, folding chair cart, Craftsman gas
blower, ADA compliant stove and refrigerator; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to
the Department of Parks and Recreation to purchase equipment for certain recreational facilities
in Puna; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and the Director of Finance and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the
terms of this resolution.
