N�� <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII --_A� ' %'•- STATE OF HAWAII <br /> 7th..... . <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 338 14 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO MALAMA 0 PUNA <br /> FOR PAHOA HIGH SCHOOL'S PROJECT GRAD NIGHT. <br /> WHEREAS, Pahoa High School's (PHS) graduating class of 2014 is comprised of <br /> approximately 80 seniors; and <br /> WHEREAS, PHS Project Grad Night is a drug- and alcohol-free event designed to <br /> engage youth and offer safe and healthy alternatives to graduation celebrations; and <br /> WHEREAS, Malama 0 Puna is a nonprofit 501(c)(3)that actively promotes and <br /> supports social awareness, community service, and youth education progams with community <br /> outreach and engagement; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency <br /> Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution <br /> identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, or event for which the <br /> grant shall be used; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control has provided grant funding for Project <br /> Grad Night in the past for schools throughout Hawai`i County to assist with events and programs <br /> for students that promote alternatives to drug and alcohol use; and <br /> WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the <br /> Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to Malama 0 Puna to assist with expenses <br /> associated with PHS Project Grad Night; now, therefore, <br />
