COUNTY OF HAWAII - •: ,.. /_•: STATE OF HAWAII <br /> •RESOLUTION NO. 352 14 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HAWAII ISLAND <br /> VETERANS MEMORIAL, INC., FOR THE HAWAII ISLAND VETERANS DAY <br /> PARADE. <br /> WHEREAS, Hawai`i Island Veterans Memorial, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit <br /> organization consisting of veteran organizations representing a broad spectrum of the Hawai`i <br /> County community; and <br /> WHEREAS, to honor all veterans in Hawai`i County, Hawai`i Island Veterans <br /> Memorial, Inc., is sponsoring a Hawai`i Island Veterans Day Parade in Hilo on November 8, <br /> 2014; and <br /> WHEREAS, participants in the event will consist of veteran organizations and <br /> individuals from Hawai`i County representing various branches of the United States Armed <br /> Forces who bravely served our country; and <br /> WHEREAS, a grant has been requested for the November 8, 2014, Hawai`i Island <br /> Veterans Day Parade for special duty police, insurance, portable toilets, tents, public address <br /> system, etc., which has been approved by the Department of Parks and Recreation; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency <br /> Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution <br /> identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, or event for which the <br /> grant shall be used; and <br /> WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to <br /> the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to Hawai`i Island Veterans Memorial, <br /> Inc., to help defray the costs of the November 8, 2014, Hawai`i Island Veterans Day Parade; <br /> now, therefore, <br />
