REPORT OF THE <br /> COMMITTEE ON PLANNING <br /> REGARDING: Communication No. 717/Bill No. 213 <br /> DATE: March 18, 2014 <br /> LOCATION: Council Chambers, Kona, Hawai`i <br /> TITLE: An Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 06-144 which <br /> amended Ordinance No. 98-98, which reclassified lands <br /> from Single Family Residential— 10,000 square feet <br /> (RS-10) to Industrial Commercial Mixed—20,000 square <br /> feet (MCX-20) at Waiakea, South Hilo, Hawai`i, covered <br /> by tax map key 2-2-037:029. <br /> EXPLANATION: The area covers 21,050 square feet and the applicant is <br /> Waterfall Entertainment, Inc. The change of zone was <br /> initially approved by Ordinance No. 98-98 to allow for a <br /> convenience store, restaurant, and/or retail outlets on <br /> Kanoelehua Avenue in Hilo. The Windward Planning <br /> Commission forwards its favorable recommendation for the <br /> applicant's request for a 180-day time extension to <br /> Condition B (water commitment payment), and a five-year <br /> time extension to Condition C (completion of construction). <br /> AMENDMENTS: Comm.
