Committee Member Zendo Kern also spoke in support of this measure.
Committee Member Greggor Ilagan, in response to Committee Member Dennis Onishi's question,
confirmed that speed limits are also enforced on private unpaved roads in Paradise Park.
Committee Member Brenda Ford stated that an existing section of the Hawaii County Code already
covers speed limits on private streets for as long as the street is listed in the code and speed signs are put
up for proper enforcement by the police.
Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation is in accord with the purpose and intent of
Bill No. 226 and recommends its passage on first reading.
jc
ANTS NOES ABS Eli Respectfully submitted,
EOFF X
FORD X COMMITTEE ON PUBLIC WORKS AND
ILAGAN X PARKS AND RECREATION
KANUHA X
KERN X
ONISHI X
POINDEXTER X DRU MAMO KANUHA, CHAIR
WILLE X PWPRC REPORT NO.: 66
YOSHIMOTO X ADOPTED: APR 1 6 2014
