Reference: Comm. 774 Intr. by: Mr. Kanuha(B/R) BILLS FOR ORDINANCES Bill 193: AMENDS CHAPTER 14 OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), BY ADDING A NEW ARTICLE RELATING TO UNLAWFUL STORAGE OF PERSONAL PROPERTY ON PUBLIC PROPERTY Authorizes the appropriate department director to remove and impound personal property that is unlawfully stored on public property 24 hours after providing written notice of the violation, with storage fees to be paid by the owner of the property. If the personal property is not claimed within 30 days, it is subject to sale at public auction or other method deemed appropriate. Any proceeds from the sale remaining after payment of storage fees and other associated costs shall be deposited into the General Fund.
