STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 389 14 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR A GRANT TO THE WAIAKEA HIGH <br /> SCHOOL PTSA FOR THE 2014 WAIAKEA HIGH SCHOOL GRAD NIGHT. <br /> WHEREAS, the Waiakea High School PTSA is a nonprofit 501(c)3 nonprofit <br /> organization; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Waiakea High School Grad Night provides a safe, secure, and <br /> supervised celebration alternative to the traditional graduation parties that involve underage <br /> drinking, illegal substance use, and unsupervised late-night partying that normally results in <br /> drinking and driving, all of which pose a hazard to the community; and <br /> WHEREAS, this alcohol- and drug-free event provides the parents and families of the <br /> graduates with the peace of mind that their child is in a safe and wholesome environment after <br /> graduation; and <br /> WHEREAS,the reduction of underage drinking and substance abuse serves a valid <br /> public purpose; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, or event <br /> for which the grant shall be used; and <br /> WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to <br /> the Department of Liquor Control for a grant to the Waiakea High School PTSA for the 2014 <br /> Waiakea High School Grad Night; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> the following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below: <br /> FUND: General <br /> AMOUNT OF <br /> APPROPRIATION: $1,500 <br /> OUT AND FROM: <br /> 010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC - Contingency Relief $1,500 <br />
