J�tY Os k�7 <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> qr!pF•N''� <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 411 1.4 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING THE SAME TO <br /> A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO PUNA COMMUNITY <br /> MEDICAL CENTER (PCMC) FOR THE PCMC BUILDING FUND—EMERGENCY <br /> ROOM. <br /> WHEREAS, according to the 2010 Census data, the district of Puna experienced the <br /> highest rate of population growth in the state yet severely lacks adequate core medical, urgent <br /> care and emergency facilities; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Puna Community Medical Center provides urgent care services to the <br /> community, regardless of their ability to pay; and <br /> WHEREAS, a well-equipped and sufficiently staffed emergency room facility <br /> significantly increases emergency response time, increases public safety and enhances the quality <br /> of life; and <br /> WHEREAS, PCMC continues to seek needed funding for the ongoing planning stages of <br /> an emergency room; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency <br /> Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution <br /> identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, or event for which the <br /> grant shall be used; and <br /> WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to <br /> the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to the PCMC Building Fund— <br /> Emergency Room; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br /> following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below: <br /> FUND: GENERAL <br /> AMOUNT OF <br /> APPROPRIATION: $5,000 <br /> OUT AND FROM: <br /> 010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC—Contingency Relief $5,000 <br />
