J�tV OF <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> ir,�` <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 415 14 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE WAIMEA <br /> HAWAIIAN HOMESTEADERS' ASSOCIATION INC. FOR OUTREACH EFFORTS <br /> FOR THE WAIMEA COMMUNITY AGRICULTURE PARK. <br /> WHEREAS, the Waimea Hawaiian Homesteaders' Association Inc. is a 501(c)(3) <br /> nonprofit organization, and one of its projects is the Waimea Community Agriculture Park; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Waimea Community Agriculture Park will consist of 246 parcels for <br /> lease to beginner farmers with each parcel being 5,000 sq. ft. or less, which will not only be <br /> available to lessees of Homestead Land, but to all members of the greater Waimea community; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, printing of pamphlets and other outreach efforts is essential to educate the <br /> Waimea residents about this community-wide agricultural program; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency <br /> Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution <br /> identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, or event for which the <br /> grant shall be used; and <br /> WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to <br /> the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to the Waimea Hawaiian <br /> Homesteaders' Association Inc. for outreach efforts for the Waimea Community Agriculture <br /> Park; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br /> following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below: <br />
