WHEREAS, the acquisition of this property would provide a buffer between <br /> development and these areas which could be explored for educational and cultural preservation <br /> purposes; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> the Director of Finance is authorized to enter into negotiations for the acquisition of White Sands <br /> Mauka in the Ahupua'a of Pahoehoe in the district of North Kona, pursuant to the terms of this <br /> resolution. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to <br /> initiate any funding mechanisms required for the acquisition of White Sands Mauka in <br /> accordance with Chapter 2, Article 42 of the Hawai`i County Code. <br /> BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this <br /> resolution to the Honorable Mayor William P.
