No. 807/Res. No. 377-14 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 377-14, reports as follows: <br />Resolution No. 377-14, transmitted by Senior Deputy Corporation Counsel Joseph K. Kamelamela, via <br />Communication No. 807 dated April 2, 2014, authorizes the acquisition of private property by eminent <br />domain, being a portion of Tax Map Key: 2-3-009:027, situated at Ponahawai, District of South Hilo, <br />Island and County and State of Hawaii, being Lot 22-C of the "Hilo Town Lots" for the construction of <br />a sewer line. <br />The resolution authorizes the acquisition of Easement "S-1" (approximately 834 square feet) to <br />construct, operate, and maintain an underground sewer line within Lot 22-C that would connect to the <br />County's sewer system. <br />There was no discussion on this measure. <br />Pursuant to Section 101-13, the Hawaii Revised Statutes requires that a condemnation action by the <br />County of Hawaii must be authorized by a resolution of the County Council. <br />Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 377-14, and <br />recommends its adoption. <br />sc <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br />VALERIE T.
