�Jrt11 OF <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 433 14 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR LABOR TO BUILD PHASE 2 OF THE NORTH <br /> KOHALA SKATE PARK. <br /> WHEREAS, the North Kohala Skate Park (NKSP) provides the community with a <br /> purpose built recreational environment made for skateboarding; and <br /> WHEREAS, outdoor activity has physical, social, emotional and intellectual benefits, <br /> and provides a gathering place for youth of all ages; and <br /> WHEREAS, community skate parks transcend the barriers of economic background, age <br /> and social status; and <br /> WHEREAS, to date only a small portion of the NKSP has been completed; and <br /> WHEREAS, facility infrastructure, including three drains, three drywcll rings and an <br /> industrial lid, the major components of a drainage system, have been donated and installed for <br /> this second phase of the NKSP though community donations and efforts, and <br /> WHEREAS, the second phase of the NKSP requires a total of approximately $70,000 to <br /> be completed, about half for materials and half for labor; and <br /> WHEREAS, as shown on Exhibit A, the Department of Parks and Recreation has <br /> committed $35,000 for materials for this second phase of the NKSP, although exactly when that <br /> funding will be made available is not yet known; and <br /> WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from District 9 will be appropriated to the <br /> Department of Parks and Recreation for the labor component cost to construct the second phase <br /> of the NKSP; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br /> following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below: <br /> FUND: GENERAL <br /> AMOUNT OF <br /> APPROPRIATION: $35,000 <br />
