Unger from the South Kona District to the Hawaii <br /> County Leeward Planning Commission. Mr. Unger is a lifelong resident of Hawai'i. He <br /> is the General Manager of McCandless Land & Cattle Co., LLC. Mr. Unger is a member <br /> of the Hawai'i Burial Council, a board member of the Kona Soil and Water Conservation <br /> District, the chair of the Land Issues Committee of the Hawai'i State Cattlemens Council <br /> and an advisor to the Hawai'i Island Land Trust. <br /> Mr. Unger states that he is not affiliated with any political party. If confirmed he will <br /> replace Richard Nelson, Ill, whose term will expire on March 31, 2015. Hawai'i County <br /> Charter Section 13-4(c), states that "members of any board or commission appointed <br /> for a term of two years or less shall be eligible to succeed themselves for an additional <br /> full term."
