COUNTY OF HAWAII - •1A " %_•- STATE OF HAWAII •it. =.qtJ..` RESOLUTION NO. 449 14 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE DEDICATION OF A ROAD LOT B-1A NEEDED FOR THE KAPI`OLANI STREET EXTENSION,JOB NO. E-4039, SITUATE AT WAIAKEA, SOUTH HILO, ISLAND OF HAWAII, HAWAII, BEING A PORTION OF TAX MAP KEY: (3) 2-4-056:015 (POR.) FROM THE ISLAND OF HAWAII YMCA, A HAWAII NONPROFIT CORPORATION. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII. WHEREAS, The Island of Hawai`i YMCA, a Hawai`i nonprofit corporation is the owner of Road Lot B-lA needed for the Kapi`olani Street Extension, Job No. E-4039, situated at Waiakea, South Hilo, Island of Hawai`i, Hawai`i, identified as Tax Map Key: (3) 2-4-056:015 (por.), consisting of approximately plus or minus 1,692 square feet delineated on Exhibit "1" and described in Exhibit "2" attached hereto; and WHEREAS, the County of Hawai`i is proceeding with Kapi`olani Street Extension, Lanikaula Street to Mohouli Street. In order to complete the project, the County of Hawai`i needs to acquire this 1,692 square feet road lot; and WHEREAS, The Island of Hawai`i YMCA, a Hawai`i nonprofit corporation is desirous of dedicating the above road lot, to the County of Hawai`i for roadway purposes, and to enhance vehicular, pedestrian, ADA and bicycle circulation between the University of Hawai`i at Hilo and downtown Hilo. The County's construction of this section of Kapi`olani Street will further advance the University of Hawai`i at Hilo's efforts to develop additional housing and support facilities in the immediate area; and WHEREAS, such dedication has been approved by the Planning Department, Department of Public Works, Department of Water Supply and the Department of Environmental Management; and WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawai`i County Charter, provides that the council may accept gifts, which include the dedication of land, on behalf of the County of Hawai`i. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawai`i County Charter, and Section 23-10 of the Hawaii County Code, that the County of Hawai`i accepts the dedication of Road Lot B-lA, containing an area of 1,692 square feet, identified Tax Map Key: (3) 2-4-056:015 (por.), delineated on Exhibit "1" and described in Exhibit"2" attached hereto, including all improvements thereon, for public road purposes.
