WHEREAS, potential matching funds from the Office of Hawaiian Affairs and the State Division of Land and Natural Resources, Legacy Land Conservation Program, may augment monies derived from the Public Access, Open Space, and Natural Resources Preservation Fund for the purpose of acquiring the Gapp property; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that, pursuant to Section 10-15 of the Hawaii County Charter,the Director of Finance is authorized to enter into negotiations for the acquisition of the Gapp Property (TMK No. 1-5-010:032) in the District of Puna,pursuant to the terms of this resolution. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to initiate any funding mechanisms required for the acquisition of the Gapp property in accordance with Section 10-15 of the Hawai`i County Charter. BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this resolution to the Honorable Mayor William P. Kenoi; Nancy Crawford, Director of the Department of Finance; the Honorable Governor Neil Abercrombie; William Aila, Director of the Department of Land and Natural Resources; Samuel J. Lemmo, Administrator of the Department of Land and Natural Resources; the Honorable State Representative Faye P. Hanohano; and the Honorable State Senator Russell E. Ruderman.
