Kona Hospitality LLC is owner of the <br /> property. The contact person is Chanel Tsang of Ina Custom Signs whose phone <br /> number is (808) 935-4491. The applicant is requesting a sign variance for three wall <br /> signs. <br /> The first proposed wall sign, facing Sarona Road, is forty-three (43) square feet in area, <br /> which includes lettering not to exceed seventeen inches (17") high with a forty-nine inch <br /> (49") high monogram symbol. The second proposed wall sign, facing east, is less than <br /> sixteen (16) square feet in area, which includes lettering not to exceed seven inches (7") <br /> high with a thirty-four inch (34") high monogram symbol. These wall signs are to be <br /> mounted no higher than nine feet (9'-0") above the second and third floor levels <br /> respectively. The ground sign along Sarona Road is eighteen (18) square feet in area, <br /> which includes lettering not to exceed seven inches (7") high with a thirty-six inch (36") <br /> high monogram symbol. The sign will be mounted on a lava rock base at six feet (6'-0") <br /> above finish grade. <br /> The business is located in Kailua Village Core which limits the signs to twelve (12) <br /> square feet in area per section 3-58(b), Chapter 3, Hawaii County Code. The maximum <br /> allowable letter and/or symbol is nine inches (9") per section 3-58(c), Chapter 3, Hawaii <br /> County Code.
