No. 467-14 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 10:22 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation, to which was referred Resolution <br /> No. 467-14, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 467-14, transmitted by Public Works Director Warren H. W. Lee, via <br /> Communication No. 943 dated June 23, 2014, grants a variance from Chapter 3, Section 3-58(c), <br /> and 3-59(a)(4), Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), to allow three wall signs <br /> on 75-934 Henry Street, Tax Map Key: 7-5-004:031 (Zoned"U" CG-20, Kailua Village Special <br /> Design District). <br /> The applicant, Scanlan Management LLC, requests a variance from Hawai`i County Code <br /> Chapter 3, Signs, to construct three signs at the Jack in the Box location on Henry Street in <br /> Kona. <br /> Scanlan Managament LLC representative Mark Lo stated that an existing retaining wall on <br /> Alahou Street impedes the visibility of the sign if they follow the standard measurements as <br /> required by the code.
