JSYIOF N� <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br />'FTF OF•NF,'1 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 535 14 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING /APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HAWAII COUNTY <br />ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY COUNCIL TO PURCHASE CITRIC ACID TO HELP <br />CONTROL COQUI FROG INFESTATION <br />WHEREAS, on the Big Island of Hawaii, Eleutherdactylus coqui, the coqui frog, has <br />taken hold, especially at the lower elevations on the East side, causing many areas of Hilo to be <br />inundated with the incessant night time chirping; and <br />WHEREAS, the coqui frog poses a threat to Hawai`i's island ecosystem because of its <br />voracious appetite that puts our unique insects and spiders at risk; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2- 139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department /agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br />activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and <br />WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to <br />the Department of Research & Development to provide a grant to the Hawaii County Economic <br />Opportunity Council for the purchase of citric acid to help control the coqui frog infestation in <br />Council District 2; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br />following amount is hereby transferred /appropriated as set forth below: <br />FUND: GENERAL <br />AMOUNT OF <br />APPROPRIATION: $6,000 <br />OUT AND FROM: <br />010.101.5101.91 Clerk- Council SVC — Contingency Relief <br />CREDITED TO: <br />010.161.5161.22 Department of Research & Development <br />Agriculture R &D OCE <br />115 Misc. Contract Services <br />(Citric Acid for Coqui Control) <br />$6,000 <br />$6,000 <br />
