GRANT DESCRIPTION <br /> 3. Issue 100 seat belt and/or child restraint citations while at distracted driver checkpoints. <br /> 4. Issue 300 citations for other violations both regulatory and moving while at distracted driver <br /> checkpoints. <br /> 5. Participating in the National Distracted Driving Awareness Month in April 2015 by increasing the <br /> number of checkpoints during this period. <br /> 6. Conduct media campaigns and/or send educational letters to registered vehicle owners relative to <br /> violations of HRS 291C-137 (Act 74) MED. <br /> 7. Send two (2) representatives to attend the Distracted Driver Proclamation Signing on Oahu. <br /> METHOD OF EVALUATION <br /> Using data gathered throughout the grant period, the grant manager will evaluate (1) how well the stated grant goals and <br /> objectives were accomplished, and(2) was the grant cost effective? How are you going to show effectiveness of your <br /> project? What will be the impact of the project on your identified problem and goal(s)? Provide details on the method of <br /> evaluation. <br /> HPD will properly record the number of grant-funded MED citations issued at checkpoints. Evaluate if HPD has <br /> obtained the grant goal and objectives listed above. <br />
