///�J/+SV Os M*‘1 <br /> � �,��digi <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII =��" '/ - STATE OF HAWAII <br /> 1T� <br /> ............ <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 548 14 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO RECYCLE HAWAII <br /> TO ESTABLISH BASIC COMPOSTING SITES IN NORTH AND SOUTH KOHALA. <br /> WHEREAS, Recycle Hawaii is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that currently <br /> sponsors basic composting workshops that provide education on various composting methods <br /> and vegetable garden production for the home; and <br /> WHEREAS, basic composting will increase food production and security and decrease <br /> the volume of organic material and trash going to Hawai`i County landfills; and <br /> WHEREAS, Recycle Hawaii plans to develop small-scale, community-based <br /> compositing sites in North and South Kohala; and <br /> WHEREAS, these composting sites will feature aerobic, anaerobic, and Bokashi <br /> composting methods; and <br /> WHEREAS, funds will be needed to plan the development of small-scale, community- <br /> based composting sites for North and South Kohala; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and <br /> WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from District 9 will be appropriated to the <br /> Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to Recycle Hawai`i to establish <br /> composting sites for North and South Kohala; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br /> following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below: <br />
