i <br /> ���iliyi <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 549 14 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE KOHALA <br /> CENTER, INC. FOR COQUI FREE WAIMEA. <br /> WHEREAS, the Kohala Center, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organziation located in <br /> Waimea; and <br /> WHEREAS, Coqui Free Waimea is working to prevent coqui frogs from infesting <br /> Waimea by both education and eradication; and <br /> WHEREAS, coqui frogs arrived in Waimea via plants and vehicles from infested areas <br /> of the island; and <br /> WHEREAS, coqui frogs have no predators, parasites, or diseases in Hawai`i to reduce <br /> their population; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and <br /> WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to <br /> the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to the Kohala Center, Inc. to <br /> help keep Waimea coqui frog free; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br /> following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below <br /> FUND: GENERAL <br /> AMOUNT OF <br /> APPROPRIATION: $1,000 <br /> OUT AND FROM: <br /> 010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC—Contingency Relief $1,000 <br />
