COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAI `I <br />566 Ili <br />A RESOLUTION URGING THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION OF <br />THE COUNTY OF HAWAII TO CREATE A PLAQUE FOR THE NEW GYMNASIUM <br />AND SHELTERS HONORING REPRSENTATIVE BOB HERKES AND PRINCIPAL <br />LAURENCE CAPELLAS. <br />WHEREAS, the purpose of this resolution is to urge the Department of Parks and <br />Recreation to create a plaque for the new gymnasium and emergency shelter in Ka`u in honor of <br />Representative Robert "Bob" N. Herkes and Principal Laurence J. Capellas, Senior, now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br />"Bob Herkes-Laurence Capellas Gymnasium and Shelters" have a plaque commemorating both <br />of these men to be placed at the site and delineate the good works they contributed to the Ka`u <br />District. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that plaque shall read: <br />Bob Herkes — Laurence Capellas Gymnasium and Shelters <br />This plaque commemorates the dedication of: <br />Representative Robert "Bob" N. Herkes <br />Who Provided For The <br />Public Health, Safety, And Welfare <br />Of The People Of Ka`u. <br />Principal Laurence J. Capellas, Sr. <br />Who Believed In Education <br />And Sports Activities <br />For The Children Of Ka`u. <br />Or any other statements on the plaque that meet with the requirements of the Department <br />of Parks and Recreation or wishes of the friends and families. <br />
