COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />570 14 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE AMERICAN RED <br />CROSS, HAWAII STATE CHAPTER, FOR RECRUITMENT AND TRAINING OF <br />VOLUNTEERS. <br />WHEREAS, the American Red Cross, Hawaii State Chapter, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit <br />organization that assists residents in disaster preparedness, response, and recovery; and <br />WHEREAS, the mobilization and response to Tropical Storm Iselle highlighted the need <br />for more resources to recruit and train volunteers on Hawaii Island; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br />activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and <br />WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to <br />the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to the American Red Cross, <br />Hawaii State Chapter, for the recruitment and training of volunteers in Council District 4; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br />following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below: <br />FUND: GENERAL <br />AMOUNT OF <br />APPROPRIATION: $5,000 <br />OUT AND FROM: <br />010.101.5101.91 Clerk -Council SVC — Contingency Relief $5,000 <br />CREDITED TO: <br />010.161.5162.98 Department of Research and Development $5,000 <br />HI Cty Resource Center <br />115 Misc.
