J+�v us <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br />'� >E of.N►.M <br />RESOLUTION NO. 604 14 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING /APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO WATERS OF LIFE <br />NEW CENTURY PUBLIC CHARTER SCHOOL TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES <br />ASSOCIATED WITH THE PURCHASE OF A CERTIFIED KITCHEN WAGON TO <br />PROVIDE SCHOOL MEALS FOR STUDENTS ENROLLED IN NA WAI OLA PUBLIC <br />CHARTER SCHOOL. <br />WHEREAS, Na Wai Ola public charter school, located in Mountain View, has identified <br />the need for a certified kitchen wagon, as funds for school meals will no longer be provided by <br />the state Department of Education; and <br />WHEREAS, the Waters of Life New Century public charter school, also known as Na <br />Wai Ola PC S, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides schooling with a mission to <br />provide a first class private school education in a nurturing environment, which ensures <br />academic success for all students at a public school price; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports this appropriation as it provides <br />a daily, healthy meal to students, encouraging healthy habits, leading to a healthier lifestyle, and <br />assures the students will have a nutricious meal in school, especially for those not receiving <br />regular meals from home; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2- 139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department /agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br />activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and <br />WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to <br />the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to Waters of Life New Century public <br />charter school to assist with expenses associated with the purchase of a certified kitchen wagon <br />to provide school meals for students enrolled in Na Wai Ola public charter school; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br />following amount is hereby transferred /appropriated as set forth below: <br />FUND: GENERAL <br />AMOUNT OF <br />APPROPRIATION: $10,000 <br />
