COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />�Mtv,os M�k. <br />tE Oi•M�'� <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />' C. t <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING /APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HAWAII ISLAND <br />UNITED WAY FOR LAVA FLOW DISASTER RELIEF. <br />WHEREAS, Hawaii Island United Way is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that <br />invests in Hawaii Island to build stronger, healthier communities; and <br />WHEREAS, the June 27th lava flow is still active in the district of Puna and could <br />possibly continue its path towards Pahoa Village and Highway 130; and <br />WHEREAS, Hawaii Island United Way will need supplemental funding to provide <br />emergency assistance to persons impacted by the lava flow; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2- 139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department /agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br />activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and <br />WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to <br />the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to Hawaii Island United Way <br />for lava flow disaster relief, including emergency assistance and other needs as deemed <br />necessary; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br />following amount is hereby transferred /appropriated as set forth below: <br />FUND: GENERAL <br />AMOUNT OF <br />APPROPRIATION: $10,000 <br />OUT AND FROM: <br />010.101.5101.91 Clerk- Council SVC — Contingency Relief $10,000 <br />CREDITED TO: <br />010.161.5162.98 Department of Research and Development $10,000 <br />HI by Resource Center <br />115 Misc. Contract Services <br />(Grant to Hawaii Island United Way) <br />
